Where to find the early blossoms in London (a walking guide)

Are you tired of the long Winter and excited about the colours and smells that come along with Spring? I hear you – and I can’t explain my excitement about going for walks in parks like Greenwich or Ravenscourt where you feel like you have stepped into a pink paradise.

But the truth is – it’s still too early, and full blossoming isn’t happening in many places just yet.

That being said, if you want to enjoy the early signs of Spring, let me tell you that some places in London start blooming a little early (as early as mid-February – early March), and so, if you fancy seeing blossoms before they turn into a thing and everyone rushes to snap their photos, this is the time to do it.

On this list, I will be covering where to find the early blossoms in London, especifically six spots around the city with cherry or other types of blossoms that are looking quite nice even before Spring starts.

Since they can be found within walking distance, I decided to organize them by location so that you can follow this as a walking guide to the early blossoms in the city.

Courtnell St, Notting Hill (W11)

The first spot on this list of where to find the early blossoms in London is not going to be the most fascinating, but it is a nice sight to the eyes when you get to see so many trees in bloom in just one street. Don’t you agree?

This is probably the first place in bloom you will ever see on any Londoner Instagram account: not only it is one of the first trees to blossom, but it is also conveniently located in front of a row of colourful houses. Got to love it, right?

62 Portland Road, Notting Hill (W11 4LQ)

Probably the second most popular place is this cute house in Portland Road, where you will be able to admire vivid pink blossoms even before the beginning of Spring.

19 Farm Place, Kensington (W8 7SX)

Just like the second place on this list, this street is fairly popular for it’s colourful houses, and having a tree in blossom in front of it it’s just the cherry on top of the cake!

45 Argyll Rd, Kensington (W8 7DA)

I actually visited this street as I was looking to see another tree in bloom (which wasn’t as it is still very early in the month), when I came across this beautiful blossom on house number 45. It turned out to be one of my favourites in the end!

11 Thurloe Street, Kensington (SW7 2SS)

And last but not least, we have another popular spot on Instagram. The shape of the tree makes this place very unique and attractive when it comes to photographing it. Since it’s also near a quite visited underground station (South Kensington), you can expect to queue for a photo here!
